Today, we're announcing @ref_tools open beta. Ref is your team’s shared space to decide what agents build before any code gets written. We’ve raised $4M from @villageglobal, @Daybreak_Fund, @tmrohan, @RitualVC, @tonigemayel @barrald @wesmckinn and @bentossell. Every engineering team is battling the same problem. I call it Velocity Sickness. It's the disconcerting feeling that you're moving fast but not having the impact you expect. It's affecting individuals, teams and especially leaders. It looks like: - Too many PRs to merge. - Brainfry and burnout. - Engineers running in different directions. - Critical decisions being made by agents. The last one is the most dangerous. At its core, software engineering is about two things: (1) what decisions matter for my system? and (2) making those decisions. Anthropic says new Claude models will embed invisible watermarks in all generated text, everywhere Claude is offered. The watermark is part of the text, it isn't metadata: "it will travel with the text when it's copied and pasted elsewhere, and may persist through some editing." This starts with models launched on or after August 2, 2026, under an EU AI Act code Anthropic signed. Anthropic is still working on adding it to current models. The rollout is worldwide.

i somehow believe in all these at once - more people become builders (can build stuff) - more personal software exists - software engineering looks different but becomes an insanely popular job - saas is dead - we have years of saas and other companies making insane amount of money - the internet becomes only for agents and uniquely designed personal projects - software maintenance will just be agents in a loop (for builders) - no one knows or cares what’s ai generated - people brands matter more - given more time (from agents doing stuff) we just do more stuff with agents - more creative people emerge

New in Claude Code: your sessions can now message each other. Instead of having to re-explain yourself in another session, you can now tell Claude to do it. It sends a summary (not your history or files), and the other session picks it up mid-task.
agreed non devs need to feel like using a vm is as simple as pointing at a folder in finder (even that is something many folks don’t think about with agents today)

vc: but what if google build it
We created a pitch deck to tell a handful of VC firms about us and what we were up to (a fun experience!). Here’s a few slides about our background and some of the things we’ve worked on from the pitch deck (it was fun putting together the list of people in our teams who have gone on to found a whole range of exciting companies). We are delighted to have selected @radicalvcfund and @khoslaventures to lead our initial funding round, along with participation from @lightspeedvp, @kleinerperkins, Doerr Capital (@johndoerr), and Alphabet (@Google). We’ll be working with them to close our seed round over the next few weeks.
