I think this is the end... I have no strength left and I feel feverish. Whatever infected the people on the cruise ship, I'm sure, now I have it too.. I almost made it, from the terrace I saw how a group of people managed to lower one of the lifeboats, between them they lowered at least two unconscious people, perhaps with fever, maybe they can help them on land... I shouted at them to wait for me and for a while they did, but I was too weak to go down through the deck or jump into the water... and I didn't dare go through the corridors because the infected people, so they left. I can't see them anymore, they've disappeared into the horizon These are without a doubt the last lines I'll be able to share with you. I'm glad to know that at least some of them made it and will soon reach land... At least I have that consolation left 🙏 Goodbye
Holy God, I've never been so scared in my life!! my hands are shaking while I write this.. I'm back in the room, locked in, but I almost didn't make it!! I was coming back from the cruise ship casino... and I ran into this thing from the video! I'd spent the night there in the casino, locked inside the bar's storage room. They didn't have bottled water but I drank from one of the faucets, even though it's not drinkable... I couldn't take it anymore. Then I worked up the courage and went back to the room as fast as I possibly could, this time through the inside of the ship instead of across the decks... and I almost didn't make it. The infection must be rabies or something like that, because this person was completely out of it!! They weren't responding to anything I was saying and they just straight-up attacked me! God, now seriously... please, really, we need help!!

I went out to get some food, I couldn’t take it anymore!! It’s really eerie seeing the cruise ship completely deserted. I haven’t run into anyone, but I’ve only been walking around for about 10 minutes, so I’m guessing most people are still confined to their rooms after what I saw on my balcony, I didn’t dare go to the buffet area, it was too far away. I went straight from my balcony to the deck area, and from there I got into the casino through an open window. And good thing I did!! Because the casino has a bar, and there was at least a little bit of fruit left Anyway, I’m writing this from here. I feel less safe here than I did in my room, but I’m going back as soon as I look around a little more... hopefully I can find a bottle of water or something to drink. On top of that, the heating has stopped working throughout the entire ship, and in some areas it’s reading 32°!!! The stench coming from the hallways is indescribable, like rotting meat... I haven’t dared go down there. I haven’t seen a single person, or anything like what I saw on the balcony either... which I don’t even know if I can call a person. But earlier, when I was out on deck, I heard screaming coming from the floors below. As soon as I’m back safe and sound in my room, I’ll write again. It’s really close, so I don’t think I’ll have any problems, but the truth is I’m really scared. As for the news: as you’ve probably seen, they’re still talking about the cruise ship being under lockdown, but they’re not saying absolutely anything else. How much time has passed already? I see it’s already made the news!! Well, that’s it. we’ve now been confined to our rooms on the cruise for 4h: They’ve given basically zero explanation over the PA system: a possible outbreak of an infectious disease (they haven’t confirmed whether it’s COVID or what, just that several passengers are in the infirmary), that we should remain calm and that they’ll let us know as soon as they know more, but that under no circumstances are we to leave our rooms I’ve got several bottles of water, so I’m fine for now. But a couple I met don’t have any water with them, so if this goes on for many more hours, I have no idea what they’re going to do... I’ve been talking to them on whatsapp and told them that if they get really thirsty, they should drink the tequila from the minibar, that stuff kills every living virus 😂 I’ve also tried talking to the neighbors from the balcony: the ones on the left, an Italian couple with a small kid, told me they’re fine. The ones on the right, I know they’re in there because they’re making quite a bit of noise, but they haven’t answered me, and believe me, I’ve tried Anyway, time to sleep... I’m sure it’s nothing

Mykonos is far superior to Santorini Way nicer to walk around than Oia or Fira (Santorini), with part of the old port looking straight out of a Monkey Island movie... And nightlife that, while it’s not quite Ibiza, isn’t that far behind either Also, generally speaking, they rip you off a little less than in Santorini... Some friends paid €8 for a coke yesterday in Santorini 😂 Even Warren Buffett would’ve said no to that one, like in his airplane anecdote Anyway, another little cruise stop 🏝️ And this time I was the tour guide because a few years ago I went hard for 7 days straight on this island with some friends, and I still remembered it pretty well I’m already getting into full cruise passenger mode... Time for a nap because there’s no way I’m missing tonight’s bingo. I refuse to let Margarita, the 80 something year old from Deck 7, take it again like she did yesterday.

Ok, getting better. the problem with going on a cruise is that there are a lot of people on it (yeah, I’m people too, but heh), so getting on and off the cruise is always a pain, and you don’t really have much time to see the places I’m not used to this way of traveling because I’m more of a backpacker, doing absolutely everything at my own pace, but well, when in Rome, do as the Romans do... you can always get something positive out of travelling Today, Santorini 🏝️

So, this happened: I’m going on a 7 day cruise by myself in the Greek islands 🏝️ Sounds great, but I’m actually a bit gutted because the plan was to do it with my wife… But because of some family health issues, she decided to go back to her country to be with her mother, and I wasn’t able to get a visa quickly enough to go with her. And the cruise was non refundable, so… f*ck it. Leisure Suit Larry Lopez Edition. And since I’m going to have more free time than I know what to do with, I’ll be posting a little travel diary here. For now, I arrived in Venice a few hours ago and did something I absolutely love: "serendipitous wandering", which basically means walking around completely at random and seeing where I end up. I don’t care about "seeing everything", because I’ll never be able to see everything anyway. And this way, I end up discovering completely unexpected things. I remembered Venice being beautiful… but not this beautiful. I’m genuinely pleasantly surprised. The American Mind can't comprehend this!
